Consultant Trauma and Orthopedic Surgeon, Wrightington Hospital, Salford Royal Hospital Major Trauma Centre

Mr Nikhil Shah is a fellowship-trained consultant and works at Wrightington hospital with an interest in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, periprosthetic fractures, complex acetabular reconstruction, pelvic discontinuity and custom acetabular reconstructions. His specialist trauma practice includes the management of pelvic-acetabular injuries which he delivers out of the regional major trauma centre as part of a regional team. He completed his fellowships at Wrightington and the Holland institute (Sunnybrook and Women’s, Toronto). He has won several awards including the prestigious Rothman Ranawat American Hip Society Travelling Fellowship, and BOA- Zimmer Travelling fellowship. He was also the Young Ambassador of the British Orthopaedic association to Hong Kong in 2004 after being awarded the Walter Mercer medal and the Edward Burton Memorial Prize FRCS (Orth) for FRCS (Orth) exam. Mr Shah teaches on various courses nationally and abroad, including AO UK courses, pelvic-acetabular trauma and arthroplasty courses. His research interests have revolved around his clinical
