Dr. Khalid Abdulla Alawadi is a Consultant Plastic and Hand surgeon in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. He obtained his MBBch from the Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt and his degree in Plastic Surgery from University Medical Center Freiburg in Germany. He is certified by the German Board of Plastic Surgery (Facharzt), the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH). He is a member of the Emirates Plastic Surgery Society (EPSS) and the Emirates Chapter of Hand Surgery. Besides this, he is a regional faculty for the AO Society and a trainer for Allergan Medical Aesthetics.

After graduating from medical college, Dr. Alawadi was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Later, he established a unit for Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, which became the leading centre for hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery in the whole of UAE. He became the Head of the Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery unit at Rashid Hospital trauma centre and also the Director of Surgery. Dr. Alawadi’s sub-speciality is hand surgery, wrist surgery, peripheral nerve surgery and soft tissue reconstruction.He has proficiently managed hand, wrist and finger fractures, hand & wrist arthritis, congenital hand anomalies, nail injuries, hand and wrist tumours (soft tissue and bone tumours, ganglion), finger amputation and limb salvage, tendon inflammation (trigger finger, De Quervain), stiff finger, soft tissue injury and loss, tendon transfer, and finger joint replacement. He has successfully treated peripheral nerve and vessel injuries, peripheral nerve compressions (Carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome) and conditions involving neuroma, nerve tumours and hypertrophic scarring and keloids.

Dr. Alawadi has published many articles in his chosen field and presented at several international conferences and meetings. In his leisure hours, he likes teaching, reading, playing chess and hiking. He speaks Arabic and English.
