Private Adult and Pediatric Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Limb Malalignment and Trauma reconstruction, HCA Healthcare and Independent Practice

Yaser originally qualified from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London. After gaining an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University he completed his orthopaedic training between Oxford and London.

Following his experience at leading limb reconstruction units in Oxford, Chertsey and Reading, Yaser went to spend a year at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. Here he trained with some of the world’s best paediatric and limb reconstruction surgeons gaining huge experience and lifelong friends and mentors. He added to this by visiting the Walk A Mile clinic in South Africa where he was also introduced to the concept of limb reconstruction for prize African ranch animals!

Back in the UK Yaser was appointed a consultant limb reconstruction surgeon at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where he introduced advanced techniques in limb lengthening and slipped epiphysis management. He was subsequently recognised for his expertise and appointed as a consultant limb reconstruction surgeon at the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital in London where he leads the limb reconstruction service and co-hosts an international fellow in paediatric orthopaedics.

Yaser’s academic interests have always been varied and leant more towards innovation. He published his Masters thesis on the basic sciences of Ilizarov frame stability in shear plane fracture management. These techniques have since been applied in patient care and led Yaser in to further work on complex deformity modelling to improve decision making. This led to his published work on mathematical modelling of Humerus fracture decision making using Markov Chain Monte Carlo techniques. On fellowship he published work dispelling myths around paediatric ACL injury and reconstruction. Since then he has produced work on the use of EOS low energy scanning in limb malalignment in children and is senior author on the world’s largest published series of the Precice intramedullary lengthening device in children.

He has ongoing research interests in Augmented Reality and 3D modelling as well as wider interests in how to make patient care more efficient, effective and cutting edge. He is co-founder, CMO and DPO for a GDPR compliant communications platform going live very soon and has considerable skill and knowledge in the practical and legal aspects of data rights, transfer and best use for patient care.

Yaser is regular faculty on local, national and international training courses in limb reconstruction and is expert faculty on Paediatric Limb Reconstruction courses. He is part of a select international group of circular frame users and part of the Nuvasive Precice international users group.
