The Bone & Joint Journal (BJJ), formerly known as The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (British Volume), is owned and published by The British Editorial Society of Bone & Joint Surgery, a registered charity (No. 209299). The Society was established with the object of: 'The advancement and improvement of education in orthopaedic surgery and allied branches of surgery and the diffusion of knowledge of new and improved methods of teaching and practising orthopaedic surgery in all its branches'.

As part of our charitable remit, The British Editorial Society of Bone & Joint Surgery supports several orthopaedic fellowships with financial donations. These include the ABC fellowship, the Mark Paterson Travelling Fellowship (an initiative with EFORT), and the Indian Orthopaedic Society fellowship in conjunction with the British Orthopaedic Trainee Association.

Orthopaedic Proceedings is a supplement with BJJ that publishes abstracts from major orthopaedic meetings around the world online. The abstracts from the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Annual Congress are published in print in addition to online.

The Bone & Joint Journal is the official publication of many national and international Associations.
